“Just as fulfilling as discovering a brand new artist and watching them rise to fame, it’s similarly rewarding to stumble upon a local band whose music has national implications and is better than all those major radio acts.”

Trigger, Saving Country Music

“They’re retro, they’re groovy as their music swirls together the swampy swagger of the Bible Belt, the minor-key melancholy of lush romantic balladry and the raw stomp of a soulful R&B flavoured edge, which combined, is indicative of the group’s particular brand of thoughtful song-smithing.”

Band Bio

Three-time Arkansas Country Music Awards Nominee (2018, 2022, 2024), Posey Hill is a regional touring Alt-country/Americana group from Central Arkansas.

Doug Burnett grew up in Arkansas in the late 70’s-80’s, playing in bands that covered rock, top 40, country and bluegrass before becoming a dad to Kristian, Erin and Megan. The girls grew up listening to him write music on his old ’54 Gibson so it was only a natural progression that they would follow suit.

Starting out as a bluegrass band, Posey Hill has played places like Silver Dollar City in Missouri, Rockygrass in Colorado, Leander Bluegrass Festival in Texas and countless venues around Arkansas. Exploring their original music led them to a broader scope of sound, pulling from the rock, country and blues Doug raised the girls on.

A valuable part of their musical upbringing was their exposure to some of the best female singer/songwriter influences: Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, and more. They are currently inspired by Americana/Alt-country/Red Dirt acts such as Tyler Childers, Turnpike Troubadours, The High Women, Red Clay Strays and more.

In 2021, the group went to The Doghouse Studios in Nashville, TN to begin recording their first all-original album. Released in August 2023, No Clear Place to Fall received global recognition from important critics such as UK’s Alan Cackett and Saving Country Music’s Trigger; making SCM’s Essential Albums of 2023 list. Their singles “Keeping Tyler”, “I’m Too Old for This” and “Send Him My Love” have received airplay all around Arkansas and various national internet radio stations and streaming playlists.

Their live shows mix a variety of originals, old country, 70’s rock, folk, Bluegrass and R&B; appealing to a wide audience.
